Pre insulated duct is made from rigid foam panel faced with aluminium foil on both sides, cut and folded into sections that are light to hang and need no separate wrap. The work includes panel thickness chosen for the duct size and the void conditions; sections grooved, folded, glued and taped along the seam; joints made with profile flanges and sealed on the inside.

For homes, apartments and light commercial ceilings it performs very well, because the insulation has no gaps and the joints are few. Steel is the stronger option for plant rooms, exposed runs and high pressure systems.

Inside a dry ceiling void, with the foil face intact and the joints sealed, it lasts for many years. Its life is shortened by punctures, water from a leaking pipe above and trades standing on it, all of which we look for during an inspection.
