How to prepare your home for a deep clean
Clear loose items from worktops and floors, put away valuables and documents, empty the fridge and oven if they are being cleaned inside, arrange parking and gate or building access for the crew, and tell the supervisor about delicate surfaces. Everything else is the crew's job.

The day before
- Clear worktops, bathroom shelves and bedside tables so surfaces can be cleaned fully
- Lift toys, shoes and laundry off the floors
- Put jewellery, cash, passports and documents in a safe or a locked room
- Empty the fridge, freezer or oven if you have asked for the inside to be cleaned
- Take down anything fragile that you would rather move yourself
Access and building rules
In a villa community, register the crew with gate security. We send names and the vehicle plate in advance. In an apartment building, the management office usually needs a work permit request and a service lift booking. The MELLS submits both, but the request must come through the owner or tenant, so allow two working days.
Tell the supervisor
- Which rooms are in use or should be left until last
- Any marble, natural stone, unsealed timber, silk or antique finishes
- Known problems such as a leaking tap, a loose tile or a stain you have already tried to treat
- Whether pets or small children will be at home
On the day
The supervisor walks the home with you, confirms the scope against the quotation and photographs the starting condition. You do not need to stay. At the end you walk the home again together, or receive the photo report on WhatsApp if you are away.
Talk to a supervisor about the work in this article today.
Common questions
Do I need to provide cleaning materials or equipment?
No. The crew brings every product and machine. We only need water and electricity.
Can I stay at home during the deep clean?
Yes. In villas the crew works floor by floor so the family can move around it. In apartments most clients step out for a few hours.
Should I move furniture?
No. The crew moves and replaces furniture. Tell us in advance about very heavy or fragile pieces.
