What is included
Wallpaper fixing for homes, offices and shops, with walls prepared, patterns matched and seams closed by our own decorators. Wallpaper fails in Dubai when it is hung on dusty, unprimed or damp walls, or when the AC is off for the summer and humidity lifts the seams. We check the wall for moisture, repair and prime it, then hang the paper with the adhesive its manufacturer specifies.
- Covering checked to tell real silk from silk effect vinyl
- Surface dust lifted with a soft brush and low suction vacuum
- Dry sponge used lightly on marks, working with the weave
- Water stains and fading recorded with photographs, not scrubbed
How we carry out silk wallpaper cleaning
Real silk wall coverings appear in majlis rooms, dining rooms and master suites in many of the larger villas, and they need a different approach from ordinary paper. Silk takes up water and the dirt with it, leaving a tide ring as it dries. Rubbing crushes the fibres and leaves a shiny patch that catches the light. Silk effect vinyl looks similar and is far tougher, so the first step is to find out which is on the wall, from the documents, a spare roll or a careful look at the edge of a seam.
On real silk the work is dry. A vacuum on low suction with a soft brush head, held just off the surface, lifts dust and sand that settle along the weave, and a soft goat hair brush works into the corners. Light marks are treated with a dry sponge, pressing rather than rubbing and following the direction of the weave. Water stains, sun fading and grease from hands are photographed and discussed with you, since attempts to remove them on silk tend to spread the mark. Silk effect vinyl is cleaned as vinyl.
How it works
The same method on every job, so the result does not depend on who is on shift.
- Survey, colour and written scope. We measure, test the existing coating and agree colours, sheen and the number of coats. The written quotation names the paint system and the scope.
- Protection. Furniture is moved and wrapped, floors are covered edge to edge, and switches, handles and light fittings are masked or removed.
- Surface preparation. Walls are washed, flaking paint is scraped back, cracks are opened and filled, and everything is sanded flat. Damp or salt affected areas are treated before any paint goes on.
- Primer and finish coats. A sealer or primer suited to the substrate is followed by two finish coats. Wet film thickness is checked on every coat.
- Snagging and handover. We inspect in daylight with you, touch up, clean down and hand over a paint schedule listing brand, colour codes and batch numbers for future touch ups.

Questions about silk wallpaper cleaning in Belair, DAMAC Hills
What does silk wallpaper cleaning include?
Silk and silk effect wall coverings cleaned dry, with soft brushes and low suction, because water and rubbing leave rings and shine that do not come out of the fibre. The work includes covering checked to tell real silk from silk effect vinyl; surface dust lifted with a soft brush and low suction vacuum; dry sponge used lightly on marks, working with the weave.
Can a water mark be removed from silk wallpaper?
Rarely without risk. Putting more water on the area tends to push the ring further out. We record the stain, explain the options, which may include replacing a panel from a spare roll, and leave it untouched unless you decide otherwise.
How do I know if my wallpaper is real silk?
Real silk has a fine, slightly uneven weave you can see close up, and the threads may fray at a cut edge. Silk effect vinyl has a printed or embossed texture with a plastic feel. Our supervisor confirms it at the site visit before any cleaning.
How much does silk wallpaper cleaning cost in Belair, DAMAC Hills?
We do not publish prices, because no two jobs are the same. The main factors: wall and ceiling area and ceiling height; condition of the surface and how much repair is needed. Book a site visit: a supervisor from The MELLS looks at the work and you receive a written quotation with a defined scope before anything begins.
Who provides silk wallpaper cleaning in Belair, DAMAC Hills?

How long does silk wallpaper cleaning take?
Typically 2 to 4 hours for a feature wall and 1 to 2 days for several rooms. The time for your property is confirmed with the quotation.
Can you hang wallpaper I have already bought?
Yes. Tell us the roll size, the pattern repeat and the batch numbers at the site visit, and we check that the quantity covers the wall before a single drop is cut.
Will wallpaper last in a bathroom or kitchen?
Standard paper is not suited to wet areas or to the wall beside a hob. In those rooms we advise a vinyl wall covering kept away from direct water, or a paint finish instead.
Can old wallpaper be removed without damaging the wall?
In most cases. We soften the adhesive with steam or a stripping solution and lift the paper in sections. Where the wall was never primed, some skim can come away with it, and we make that good before the next finish.
How do your crews get access to Belair, DAMAC Hills?
Both communities are gated. Residents register our crew through the community app, and apartment buildings need a work permit and a service lift booking.
Do we need DAMAC approval for work in DAMAC Hills?
Cleaning, AC servicing and repairs inside the home only need the gate or building pass, which the resident arranges. We prepare the method statement, drawings, insurance and trade licence documents the approval asks for.
How do I choose a company for silk wallpaper cleaning in Belair, DAMAC Hills?
Ask four things: who employs the people who will come, whether the scope is written down before work starts, how the result is checked, and what happens if something is missed.
