What is included
Carpet and rug cleaning by fibre. Wool, silk, viscose and synthetic each get their own chemistry and drying time. A hand knotted silk rug and a nylon office carpet have nothing in common except that both hold dust. We identify the fibre and construction first, then choose between shampoo, hot water extraction and low moisture methods so colours stay true and the pile recovers.

How we carry out afghan rug cleaning
Afghan rugs are woven from hand spun wool and coloured with natural dyes, which give Ziegler and Chobi pieces their soft, slightly uneven tones and Kazak rugs their deep reds and blues. Those dyes are beautiful and not always stable, so every colour is tested with a damp cloth before cleaning. Hand spun wool also holds a great deal of fine sand at the base of the pile, so the rug is vacuumed from the back first, where the grit is driven out.
Rugs that need a full wash go to our workshop and are washed front and back with a wool safe solution in cool water, then rinsed until it runs clear. The fringes are cleaned by hand. Drying is flat and controlled, since wool that dries slowly in a closed room can brown or smell. The pile is groomed in its natural direction and the rug comes back with its colours true and its handle soft.
